In France, the market for electric vehicles is taking shape: after the French government, the French car manufacturers PSA and Renault, as well as pilot projects in twelve local and regional authorities signed an agreement for the development of a network of charging stations for electrical vehicles in 2010, a number of specific pilot projects and public tenders will be launched this year. 900,000 private and 75,000 publicly accessible charging stations will be installed in residential areas, among employers and in public parking areas by 2015. 100,000 electric cars are expected to be sold in France by 2012.

RWE Effizienz GmbH and SAG Group in France cooperate in order to participate in the planned construction of infrastructure for electric mobility in France. The partners intend to put RWE Effizienz´s concept of electrical mobility on the French market. This is mainly RWE´s charging network system solutions to charge electric vehicles. RWE contributes its extensive product platform of charging solutions and services for electric mobility into the cooperation and SAG provides comprehensive implementation skills and strong roots in the French market.
